World War I Memorials and War Graves
The Commonwealth War Grave Commission holds extensive records about burial sites and memorials to the fallen.
Civic memorials occur in most towns and villages listing the names of the dead and/or those who served. Details of these are often collected by local history groups. For example Addingham and Calverley.
Further information about North Yorkshire memorials can be found at http://www.ww1-yorkshires.org.uk/html-files/war-memorials-north-yorks.htm.
Greater Manchester County Record Office have a list of all British and Dominion subjects who died in WW1, WW2 and the Boer War and are buried in war cemeteries.
