Trinity Methodist New Connexion Church, Mirfield
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Established 1833 by four main members of Knowl Wesleyan Methodist Church who seceded from Wesleyans and joined Methodist New Connexion.
At first used a room at Hopton belonging to Henry Wheatley for meetings.
Chapel built on south side of Eastthorpe Lane (later known as Huddersfield Road) 1834-35.
Sunday School established c.1835, using room in Hopton near Ledgard Bridge.
Sunday School built behind chapel in Chapel Lane (later known as Trinity Street) 1861.
Chapel demolished c.1877 and new chapel built on same site 1877-78.
Called Trinity Methodist New Connexion Church from 1878.
Still in existence in 2009 and called Mirfield Trinity Methodist Church.
