Thurlstone Bullhouse Independent Church
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
The Riches, a Nonconformist family, lived at Bullhouse in later 1600s; many ministers ejected from the Church of England in 1662 visited them.
House of Silvanus Rich at Bullhouse licensed as a dissenting meeting house 1672.
Chapel built in Bullhouse Lane by 1692.
Congregation seems to have ceased to exist c.1800.
Chapel still used for worship by various Nonconformists in 1800s.
