Slaithwaite Zion Baptist Church
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Members of Pole Moor and other Baptist churches who lived in Slaithwaite began holding meetings in a house at Crimble c1883.
A Sunday School was established in 1885 using the Liberal Club hall.
In 1886 a congregation was established with members from Pole Moor, Golcar and Rishworth and a chapel was built between Crimble Bank and Olney Street between 1890-1891.
The congregation ceased to use the chapel building in 2001 and used a room in Meadow Court Residential Home for worship instead.
The church is no longer in existence.
