Scapegoat Hill County Primary School, Colne Valley
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Built as Scapegoat Hill Baptist School, School Road in 1872, the day school opened in 1874. The school was enlarged in 1892 and again in 1900 when it was taken over by Golcar School Board and renamed Scapegoat Hill Board School in 1894. It later became Scapegoat Hill County Primary School, finally becoming Scapegoat Hill Junior and Infants School. The earliest recorded log book for this school is dated 1875.
