Roberttown (Centenary) Weslayan Methodist Church
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
This church was established in 1829 using the undenominational Sunday School in Church Street (later called Church Road)(built 1817-1818) for worship.
A chapel was built in Far Common Road in 1839 and a Sunday School was established between 1839-1849 using the building in Church Road.
A new Sunday School was built behind the chapel in 1926.
The chapel was demolished in 1968 and the congregation then used the Sunday School for worship.
The old Sunday School in Church Road was later used as an undertaker's chapel of rest; it was demolished c1998.
Closed 2000.
