Out and Out Mission
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Established in c1888 using the former Bethel Primitive Methodist Chapel in Crackenedge Lane, the Out and Out Missions were said to be a group of Methodists who wished to reach out to the poor. They may have been associated with the Gospel Temperence Union. The Out and Out Mission was called the International Gospel Mission by the 1960's. The building was purchased by a group of Evangelical Christians and opened as their church in 1983 and is still in existence as Dewsbury Evangelical Church.
