Lepton County Junior Mixed School, Kirkburton
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Built as the Board School, Fenay Bridge Road, Spring Grove in 1877, it became called Lepton Council School from c1902 - 1904, then Lepton County Primary School. It became an infants only school c1969 and amalgamated with the county Junior School, 1978 - 1980, the building closed in 1980. The earliest recorded log book for the school is dated 1877.
