Knowl Bank County Junior School, Knowl Road, Golcar
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Town School, Knowl Bank [later Knowl Road] was built in 1816. The school was taken over by Golcar School Board and renamed Knowl Bank Board School in 1893. It was enlarged in 1896 and again in 1902. when it became known as Knowl Bank County Primary School. The school closed c1974 when the junior school in Manor Road opened, the building became used as an annexe to Golcar Infants School, Manor Road, c1975 - 1980, the building was then converted into flats.
