Hillhouse United Methodist Free Church
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
The mission was established from Huddersfield Brunswick Street United Methodist Free Church in 1868, using a room called Proctor's Schoolroom for services and meetings. A Sunday School was established in 1872 and a chapel was built at the corner of King Cliff Road and Halifax Old Road between 1873 - 1874. The congregation became seperate in 1882 and the chapel closed in c1962, the building is currently used as a Muslim Community Centre.
