Clayton West Methodist Church
The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available.
Previously known as Clayton West Primitive Methodist church and also Wakefield Road Methodist Church.
A chapel was built on the south side of Chapel Hill in 1842; it was to the east of the Wesleyan chapel and almost opposite the Congregational chapel.
In 1903, a new chapel with a Sunday School on the ground floor was built in Wakefield Road. The old chapel in Chapel Hill became a public hall in 1903.
